A beautiful pioneering wine estate in the middle of nowhere, at the end of a dusty road at the Southern tip of Africa. This unique vineyard is situated on the Malgas and Infanta side of the Breede River, 15km from Infanta.
Their tasting room is open on Saturdays from where you will have a hard-to-believe beautiful view of the Breede River. They offer an excellent platter to enjoy with the wine. All platter ingredients are sourced locally and they provide a list of where they are from.
You can reach Sijnn Wines in two ways, however the one option includes crossing the Breede Rivier on the Ferry/Pont - which is currently not operating. The other way is starting at Swellendam, this route does not cross the Breede River. These are also great routes to ride with your mountain bike to meet up with the rest of the family at Sijnn Wines. The Breede River Trading Post Farmstall is also a worthwhile stop.
Currently the Ferry/Pont is not operating - so do not get stuck on the wrong side of the river.
HOW DO I GET THERE:
FERRY COST (about):
Car or Bakkie: R60
Mountain Bike: R15 (unofficially)
The Ferry is not operation at present. It is usually open from sunrise to sunset.
